Duties includes; supervision of personnel, product quality, completion of work, the safety, security, and housekeeping of the facility, shipment of finished product, and full compliance with all legal regulations and company policies. Regular reporting to corporate will be expected. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES E Supervise personnel assigned to the Shanghai manufacturing site. Assign work, provide training, monitor job performance, conduct routine appraisals, and make recommendations for promotion or termination. E Maintain product quality. Routinely conduct quality checks, train employees in quality procedures and insure compliance of all personnel. E Insure that all work is completed as scheduled. Routinely review work schedule with buyer/planner, insure materials required are available, and schedule employees as needed to complete work on time. E Maintain security, safety, and housekeeping of the facility at all times. Establish housekeeping expectations with all employees, routinely inspect the facility, and provide specific instructions when deficiencies are identified. E Comply with legal regulations and company policies at all times. Insure that all employees are aware of these and monitor them on a routine basis. Document and report all violations immediately to management. E Routinely report facility performance in all areas outlined above on a regular basis. Reporting will be expected weekly by phone or email. Formal reviews with management will be held at minimum quarterly. E Requisition supplies as required to support facility operations in accordance with company guidelines. Coordinate inventory purchases and inventory levels needed to meet scheduled production with buyer/planner. E Ship finished product to customers in a timely and cost effective manner. Insure packaging is in conformance with international regulations and is of good quality to insure the protection of the product. E Actively participate in Labsphere continuous improvement program. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through out the facility by demonstrating a style of leadership that encourages active employee participation. E Develop, implement, and publish facility metrics to monitor key performance areas and drive improvement. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Computer knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems desired. At minimum six years of experience as a supervisor or manager of a manufacturing facility within a multinational organization. Excellent international communication skills in Chinese and English. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally. A proven leader capable of taking over full responsibility for the start up of this manufacturing site. Someone who can work with and motivate employees at all levels of the organization. An individual with above average energy, effective communications style, and team player. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Six or more years of Supervisory experience in a Manufacturing environment. 4-year degree in a related/technical field from a college or technical institute LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write, and speak Chinese and English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as; Bills of Material, Purchase orders, blueprints, work instructions, reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, vendors, customers, associates and management. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to stand, bend, sit, lift (max 50lb) and reach as needed to perform the essential functions of the position.
