This China regional operations position reports to the China Operations Manager and is a key member of the China Management Team. The position is directly line responsible for managing and supporting all gas plant operations in Southern China. 2. This position is to facilitate attaining all Air Products standards and global best practices for EH , productivity, reliability, quality, and overall customer service. Self development and development of the regional team is critical for success. 3. A primary responsibility of this position is safety of all operations personnel. The position teaches AP safety policies/procedures, provides AP safety standards, facilitates safety improvement plans, participates in safety audits, sees that AP EH standards and practices are being done/followed, and in general builds the AP safety culture in the region. The position shall seek technical support for the region from local, China, and global resources and coordinate this support in a cost-effective and timely manner. 4. One of the major focuses of this position is to develop the regional operations teams by hiring and promoting the best overall candidate to management positions with defined and equitable criteria, by coaching, directing, and developing the regional operations teams under the guideline of Global Operations culture as has published, and by setting up an organizational atmosphere of open/honest communication, empowerment, delegation, and employee involvement. 5. Operations, productivity, reliability, quality, cost effectiveness, and customer service/relations are very important responsibilities of this position. This incumbent coaches, advises, initiates, facilitates, motivates regional operations personnel bottom line being continually reducing costs while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. 6. The incumbent will coordinate and support the existing plant maintenance activities by working closely with the China Maintenance Organization, including routine and major plant maintenances, plant Mechanical Integrity program implementation, PM, maintenance Best Practices, etc. 7. This position will also oversee all the pipeline operations in his region, making sure the world wide operating procedures / practices are installed at each facility and emergency response system is set up properly. It is this position"s accountability that all pipelines operate with zero product supply excursions. This position strives for pipeline customer satisfaction. 8. The position also participates in new regional project development including helping identify new business opportunities. For projects that become a reality, the position supports construction and commissioning activities and may get hands-on directly involved in commissioning. 9. An important role of this position is to effectively communicate to and coordinate with related functional teams to form collective decisions on planned outages and new projects execution issues, making sure teams are aligned and supportive to the solution and best resource utilization with the lowest costs is achieved. Special Skills Requirements: 1. Good leadership and interpersonal skills. 2. Wide technical knowledge in gas operations and engineering. 3.
