Drive product quality improvement and implement material cost saving projects through product redesign Own the completion of individual engineering design projects to improve product productivity. Work closely with sourcing, manufacturing, product management and the global network of suppliers to develop and drive key cost saving ideas. Coordinate DMP/Cost out project with multiple engineering teams across Security business. Work with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing to track business-wide productivity savings. Support productivity reviews with analysis and reporting of results to senior leadership. Track/evaluate ideas for product cost reduction, concept definition, project coordination including task assignment and scheduling across functions Provide assistance to design engineers, managers, commodity leaders and finance personnel to achieve the cost out targets in timely manner. These tasks include but are not limited to drafting engineering change orders, Bill of Material research, and other data base analyses. Preparation of cost out meetings including provide cost out database tracking, idea sheets, status&action item tracking, and cost summary reports. Prepare team and project progress reports/charts analyzing progress to date and defining obstacles and issues. Review both new and sustaining product designs and provide design improvement and standardization ideas to minimize design and product cost. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: BE/ B. or above Tech in CS/Electronics/Electrical 3+ years of product cost out and design engineering experience Minimum of 1 year experience working with manufacture engineering (i.e DFM and so on) Experience with manufacture design process and be familiar with advanced manufacture process (PWB, PCBA and so on) Strong design, presentation, and communication skills Strong leadership and influencing skills to drive other teams to complete tasks Ability to handle many different tasks and projects at once with relentless energy Ability to identify and resolve technical and program issues/decisions Demonstrate a mindset of ownership, accountability, and sense of urgency to achieve productivity targets Energize teams while acting as a change agent to lead productivity improvement Team player with strong interpersonal skills Experience with device selection, SCH design, PCB layout review in hardware side Experience with oscilloscope, logic analyzer and lab equipment Experience in Unit/Integration/system test based on complex hardware. Familiar with various testing equipment, including ICE, oscilloscope, etc Ability&willingness to work at all levels of the organization to get the job done Ability&willingness to travel to other GE businesses on as needed basis Excellent language skill on English reading, speaking and writing Preferred - experience in Security product Provide assistance to design engineers, managers, commodity leaders and finance personnel to achieve the cost out targets on time.
