Where appropriate, include quantifiable data; i.e., budget dollars. Maintain all Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production line equipment to maximize equipment performance. Processes include paste printers, high-speed component placement, flexible component placement, and reflow ovens. Innovate new approaches and make recommendations for process improvements. Perform troubleshooting and repairing work when machine breakdown. Communicate with Factory Support, Teammates, Production and Engineering to achieve maximum output efficiency of machinery while adhering to all process guidelines. Provide technique training for department Technicians and Manufacturing personnel. Assist in the development and implementation of system level Predictive and Preventive maintenance practices that maximize capital assets, and increase production efficiency. Assist machine relocation, installation, and setup, recommended spares. Optimization of pick&placement program, maximize SMT line throughput. Support Process Engineering and Product Engineering on designing for Manufacturing (DFM) activities and continuous improvement projects as related to: Cycle Times&Line Balance, Methods, and Ergonomics. Assist to establish product-manufacturing flowchart, through the process of conducting time studies to calculate product-manufacturing cost. Develops equipment, materials, and process performance requirements, equipment evaluation to ensure adequate capability to produce quality product in required quantities at an effective cost. Provide assistance to the development and design of plant layouts for multiple manufacturing lines. Communication with outside suppliers to collect new production technology or equipment and tool. Perform high level maintenance and calibration, ensure machine process precision. Key Competencies: Critical skills, abilities and characteristics necessary to perform job responsibilities. Proficiency in English and Chinese languages. Good math and computer skills. Discipline to observe all safety rules and perform tasks in a manner that will avoid injury to themselves or others. Ability to service machinery in such a way to avoid damage to capital equipment, tools, or production line product. Proficiency in the safe use of basic machine shop equipment and hand held power tools. Understand SMT process methods of operation and maintenance. Must understand critical component characteristics, process characteristics and equipment characteristics. Ability to understand and use Electronic, Electro-Mechanical and Pneumatic schematics or mechanical drawings to resolve various performance deficiencies. Understanding of basic mechanics, pneumatics, and electrically controlled machinery as used in an automated production environment. Ability to utilize critical thinking skills as applied to root-cause troubleshooting and analysis. Ability to define and produce maintenance performance reports. Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and Numerically Controlled Machines is desired. Ability to update and maintain machine reference documents and technical procedures is desired. Proven skills in the use of Machine Shop tools e.g. mill, lathe, surface grinder, etc. is desired. Prefer to know the SMT machine: Panasonic. Education and Experience: Indicate the minimum level of education and experience necessary to perform the position. Also list certifications, licenses, etc., which are required to perform the job. If appropriate, include any preferences that may not be a requirement.
