Include overall scope of position and a description of authority the position has for programs/projects/operations and establishing policies. Senior product engineer is a position in charge of developing and updating drawings, supporting program launch process and supporting new product launch and so on . Major Responsibilities: List major areas of responsibilities and accountabilities of the position. Where appropriate, include quantifiable data; i.e., budget dollars. C ontinue Product Engineering department activities which consists of ensuring the latest Bill of Materials are used for production, maintains support for document control activity, coordinates activities with design responsible facilities, coordinator new product launches, and promotes Value Analysis Engineering to reduce costs . C oordinate supplier product evaluation and testing activities . C oordinate the search for and evaluate potential new product suppliers . P articipate and promote cost reductions continuous improvement activities, Health and Safety awareness, and adherence to QS-9000 Systems . Develop and update Drawings and other required process documents. Support program launch process. Provide daily production support. Support new product launch. Key Competencies: Critical skills, abilities and characteristics necessary to perform job responsibilities. Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO9001(2000) and/or QS9000. Strong drive to excel with high energy level. Education and Experience: Indicate the minimum level of education and experience necessary to perform the position. Also list certifications, licenses, etc., which are required to perform the job. If appropriate, include any preferences that may not be a requirement. Note: The education and experience should be based on the job responsibilities and should not necessarily mirror the exact background of the incumbent. Educational: Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Experience: Minimum 3 years working experience preferably in automotive industry.
