Job Responsibilities: Develops the necessary software to enable automatic validation of the xDSL Physical Layer. Automate a shared lab over different continents using modern internet technology. Travel abroad for solving field issues, giving technical support or attending conferences and plug tests a few times a year. Interpret the results of the automated tests and have a good view on the different xDSL standards. Qualifications/Requirements: Masters degree in electrical engineering or Software Engineering. 3 years experience in automation and/or xDSL. Experience in IP, ATM, OO/C++, control systems, would be an advantage Knowledge of Java and Visual Basic, script languages TCL/TK, perl and xDSL PHY layer standards. Good Java expertise is mandatory. Understand the working principles of test equipment (arbitrary waveform generators, network analyzer, line simulators) and Central Office DSL equipment (multiple brands of DSLAM"s).
