And Cisco is leading the experience.Cisco seeks an Electrical New Product Introduction Engineer to join a team that plays a key role in ensuring the successful design and manufacture of Cisco products. This position emphasizes early engagement in the design process and continuous participation in all facets of development, from cost, to manufacturing and deliverability. Verbal and written communications skills are critical, as you will be interacting with a variety of groups on a global basis, and you will be taking the initiative in gaining input and delivering feedback on all aspects of the product development process. Supports the development of new products by leading the manufacturing effort to define and drive DFA/M and DFT with the goal of reducing the assembly and test time, and increasing the overall product quality. Investigates and promotes cost avoidance efforts during the development process. Helps establish product BOM structure, and then generates and maintains highly accurate production BOMs in accordance with that structure. Assists in the prototype build and debug process. Drives the evaluation and enhancement of the engineering design verification process with the goal of releasing zero design defects to production. Manages the product production transfer and release through the RCN process. As required, provides sustaining engineering support to existing products. Manages the technical change to existing products through the RCN process. Drives the reduction in product costs of goods through the ongoing investigation and qualification of lower cost parts and more effective processes. Actively participates in the Defect Reduction Teams by working to identify and drive to resolution product issues.Typically requires BS degree in Engineering or equivalent plus 10+ years applicable experience.(Electrical and Mechanical Engineer) Has a working understanding of system architectures, design concepts and engineering development practices. Demonstrates this understanding through a positive impact on the quality and productibility of the end product. Establishes technical direction through the investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies. Is viewed as a technical leader. Operates very independently with little to no supervision. Works in partnership with the NPI Program Mgr to set technical direction and establish project goals and milestones. Global Communication. Interpersonal and team skills. Conflict resolution. Global interface with BU, Mfg., partner, and CA personnel. Has a thorough understanding of the CAE and manufacturing tools used in the job. Takes an active role in the evaluation and enhancement of existing tools. Is also involved in investigating and evaluating new tools and equipment that will improve the quality of the product and efficiency of the group. Seeks opportunities to provide formal and informal training on tools and equipment. Demonstrates technical expertise in the use of multiple tools and pieces of equipment. Has a thorough understanding of the entire product development process. Works in conformance to established manufacturing processes and procedures. Achieves positive and measurable business results through an active involvement in the evaluation and enhancement of manufacturing and cross-functional processes and procedures. Promotes team conformance to established processes and procedures through formal and informal training and mentoring.
