The UI Framework and Services team -- owners of ASP.NET, Microsoft¡¯s AJAX framework and Windows Forms -- is kicking off a new project to deliver a richer programming model for the next generation of richer, more interactive, ubiquitous web-based applications. In partnership with the CLR and other teams in Developer Division and Windows Live, we are delivering a new cross-platform runtime called WPF/E, which combines a small, cross-platform version of the Common Language Runtime (CLR) with a lightweight framework geared for the next generation of richer, more interactive ubiquitous web-based applications. With WPF/E, developers will be able to leverage the rich set of Microsoft tools, languages, and managed code technologies to extend and enrich AJAX applications. Primary responsibilities include testing WPF/E features in Mac OS (including functional, stress and performance) and engaging with customers and partners to help drive adoption. You must be motivated to help improve the user experience and to improve quality across our broad feature set. You will accomplish our team¡¯s commitments by partnering with UE, PM, Dev, and Test to develop product scenarios and samples, write quality test plans, develop automated test cases and participate in customer engagements. A successful candidate will have very strong customer focus and a desire to translate that focus into code that implements effective test strategies for validating end-to-end scenarios spanning our product features. Requirements include 2 years or greater in product development of successfully shipping products. Proven and demonstrable coding skills (VB.NET, C/C++, C#, Java), highly effective written/oral communication skills and the passion to champion customer issues are required. A B.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) is required. Previous experience with web development and building applications for Mac OS X or UNIX is highly desirable.
