Service Packs are released every 6-10 weeks and the positive impact this team makes is felt immediately. You will interface closely with Customer Support, Professional Services, and often Sales to provide key technical knowledge and expert product advice. You will have direct impact to the success of customers and may work directly with our most important and strategic customers. This position requires working in a global organization with counterparts currently in Israel, Ukraine and United States. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works with various developers, product designers and customer support engineers within the company to deliver high quality defect fixes and enhancements. Works collaboratively with other product developers and designers to design and implement defect fixes and enhancements that follow the overall product direction. Works with customer support organization and provides technical analysis and solutions to customers¡¯ problems. Works directly with customers&product consultants via phone, email or web conference when needed. Help design and implement small features and platform components from requirements. Attend design reviews. Essential Attributes Desire to dig into real-world customer problems in complex enterprise environments. We handle very low-level problems around database, java, and network performance. Desire to understand how customers are actually using our products and to influence future product direction. Desire to have broad exposure to the entire product suite, technical and functionally, not just one product or area. Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with peers and customers. We often interface with the customer directly in addition to many external Mercury groups. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment involving large sales deals and critical customer support, sometimes in adverse circumstances. Demonstrated time management, problem solving, presentation, and organizational skills. Operates effectively under moderate to limited supervision. Required Knowledge and Work Experience Bachelor"s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field. 2+ years experience developing complex software. Good knowledge of Java, J2EE and related java technologies Good knowledge of Web Based GUI technologies (HTML, JavaScript, JSP, DHTML, CSS) Good knowledge of database technology (SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC ) Experience with Struts, Hibernate and AJAX a big plus. Experience or desire to learn performance tuning. Experience developing enterprise software. Experience working in a high performing team of engineers. General technical knowledge of broad business areas.
