This includes the manufacturing of prototype components made from steel, aluminum, other metals, plastic, fabric etc. In addition it includes the assembly of products with these components. The total shop consists of a machining shop, a molding shop, a rapid prototyping shop, a sewing laboratory and three assembly shops, one for seatbelt, one for steering wheels and one for airbags, including the storage of gas generators. As well he is in charge of building all test fixtures and other kind of hardware for the technical center. His task is to provide services to the engineering department based on manufacturing or assembly requests and his output is products to be used by the engineering department, the environmental or physical laboratory, or the sled&test laboratory. Ensures with his team that all requests are processed in a rapid and professional way. 2. Assures that the shops are staffed and managed to support any engineering or other customer request at any time and that all personnel is trained as required. 3. Works with customers, personnel, and resources to ensure that all customer expectations of timing, quality and cost on work requested are met or exceeded. 4. Provides guidance and technical support on any manufacturing issue to the engineering group, customers, and other parties. 5. Develops and executes maintenance schedules for his equipment, ensures that the shops are operational at any time and that all equipment is maintenance properly or replaced proactively. 6. Assures that all required raw materials and purchasing components and tools are stocked as required. 7. Plans and directs activities to maintain compliance with company safety and environmental policies and procedures including all local, state and federal laws and regulations. 8. Creates an environment of continuous improvement with focus on reducing turnover time. 9£®Attain system requirements of environment¡£Assist to constitute audit schedule, implement internal audit.
