You will focus on mechanical machine design on whole and ensure that the design of these parts is faultless. It is in your responsibility that the designed machines are easy and cost efficient to manufacture and assemble. You are able to work independently based on your education, experience and given instructions. As a senior engineer you must be able to guide and inspect the work of you colleagues. E ducational background University graduate on mechanical engineering O ther specific competences You should be well educated on constructional design and manufacturing method (including welding, machining, casting). You are able to perform and interpret strength analysis and you are knowledgeable on material properties (in particular metals) and possibilities of different materials. You are familiar with the major standards in the area of mechanical engineering and materials. You know clearly applicable international standards for electrical machines and those requirements. You have also experience of the general design criteria for the synchronous generators in this power range. Work experience You should have long previous experience on work with modern CAD design tools. In addition you should have design experience on electrical machines of this size. Interpersonal skills You should be capable for both independent work and team-work as a supervisor Language skills (language / level) You should be fluent in written and capable to communicate in verbal English Technology/ IT skills You should be able to use computer as an effective tool. In particular you should be familiar with standard office tools and at least one CAD tool. You should have at least some experience on 3D CAD.
