Products include propulsion systems for large mining dump trucks for the global mining market. Engineers are involved in the complete design cycle - customer requirements, concept design, detailed design, validation, supplier qualification, and field/customer support. System includes alternators, AC/DC motors, dynamic braking equipment, blowers, and transmissions. Specifically, the successful candidate will own the process for casting supplier selection, qualification and/or development for OHV structural components (transmissions, alternators, motors), working together with structural, gearing/bearing engineers on productivity efforts, new product development, modification/improvement of existing product line, and reliability issues. Provide technical leadership on the overall OHV equipment casting design and development. Support component and sub-system level design and supplier qualification of OHV castings. Interact with manufacturing and casting suppliers to implement new designs and/or improve/fix manufacturing processes. Support Sourcing organization in new casting supplier development and qualification. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: BS in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy Minimum of 3 years of experience in casting development. Steel and iron castings manufacturing, selection and design experience. Aluminum casting experience a plus.- Structural analysis and testing experience. Good bi-lingual (Chinese&English) proficiency required. DESIRED: Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy. Magma or similar casting simulation software proficiency.
