General Counsel based on Germany, HQ JOB PURPOSE: The development and implementation of legal strategies and provision of a comprehensive legal service/company secretarial service to Group’s interests in the PRC and Hong Kong. The coordination and management of Group’s legal affairs to ensure that the risks faced by the company are understood and managed appropriately and that the companies’ legal exposure is minimised or eradicated. DIMENSIONS: Direct responsibility for the provision of strategic and operational legal advice to Group companies in the PRC and Hong Kong. Direct responsibility for compliance in relation to Sales&Distribution Law, Consumer Credit and Competition Law, Dealer and Financing issues, Product Liability, Intellectual Property Law, Real Estate Law, Labour Law and Data Protection together with provision of the Company Secretariat function. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: To proactively identify and examine legal issues in order to provide legal advice and make recommendations to the Porsche Group companies in the PRC and Hong Kong via the various directors an their departments. Coordination of legal resource within legal department and through external counsel on a cost effective efficient and timely basis. Integration of Group strategy to individual business units’ requirements, generation options and advising business managers accordingly. Liaising with General Counsel, Stuttgart on a regular basis together with other colleagues in a central legal function, on both strategic and operational legal issues. Carrying out the duties of the Company Secretary to companies in the PRC and Hong Kong in a timely and efficient manner to comply with the regulatory requirements. Negotiating with internal clients and external suppliers, customers, lawyers and regulatory authorities. BACKGROUND SKETCH: Experience: 8 - 10 years qualified Solicitor with as an in-house lawyer in industry. Qualifications: - Qualified solicitor (2 degrees in (1) China&(2) UK or US or Germany) - English and/or German (if possible) Key Decision Areas: Make Decisions: Ensuring that the legal team is able to meet the needs of the Individual business units and integrate the same into corporate strategy.
