Surface equipment installation and maintenance, including safety and environment aspects. Surface equipment monitoring, particularly pipelines (pigging). Interaction of CO2 and its contaminants (H2S, methane, SOx, NOx…) with metals and elastomers. Techniques to prevent tubular corrosion and elastomer degradation. Viscous pressure drop and erosion in surface piping. Thermodynamic behavior of pumped CO2, including phase transitions. Pressure/volume/temperature calculations at all points of the surface equipment to the wellhead. CO2 conditions at the generator (p, V, T). Evaluates existing understanding, tools, models and simulators for the behavior of surface equipment Works closely with software developers to integrate models in existing software platforms Develops and manages a strategy for reliability, maintainability, availability and safety of surface equipment Assists CO2 field operations as required, in particular in preparing and evaluating bids and managing contractors QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor"s degree in engineering. 5+ years experience in the design of gas pumping and treating systems. Experience with pumping CO2 a big plus.
