Manages the successful transfer of new products to the appropriate supplier by establishing qualification systems and processes that guarantee the quality and reliability of products to our Customers Develops the systems, processes, staff and documented procedures to ensure that purchased material meets specified requirements. Ensures that appropriate actions are in place and corrective action plans are documented from suppliers to address discrepant materials when they occur. In conjunction with Supply Chain Management, manage the supplier performance evaluation program. Measure supplier quality performance according to documented procedures. Ensure correlation of incoming inspection methodology with suppliers. Education and Experience: Bachelor"s degree in Engineering or related curriculum required. Three to five years experience in a Quality/Supplier Quality function. Working knowledge with overseas suppliers and subcontractors is a plus. Foreign language abilities are a plus Broad product and process knowledge, including Machining, Small assemblies, plastics, metals, manual assembly. Working knowledge of and auditing experience to ISO 9001:2000 / TS 16949 quality system standards. Strong Analytical and problem solving skills. Automotive background preferred, with working knowledge of PPAP, APQP&CP, SPC, GD , and GR Strong computer skills including the use of standard office software (MS Office preferred). Excellent communication skills to deal effectively suppliers and various internal functions. Continual improvement minded with strong follow-through mentality. Data and metrics-driven.
