This developer should definitely have VoIP experience and be able to discuss programming level questions in their language of expertise and VoIP concepts. Focus for VoIP experience should be in Cisco Technologies. Experience in a customer facing environment is a PLUS. These engineers should be self-starters with the ability to work independently as part of a team and think outside the box. The engineers in this position will be assisting developers in a new development language with troubleshooting, design, architecture, conceptual ideas, and basic/advanced programming questions. Work closely with Cisco third party software developers to provide support of development, design and debugging of third party products designed to be compatible with Cisco’s technologies by using Cisco published interfaces, APIs and/or software development kits (SDK). Responsibilities include: Engage with product team prior to beta release for knowledge transfer of exposed interfaces Manage technical relationships with several 3 rd party companies at a time Provide support via phone and email for exposed interfaces (beta&FCS) throughout the third parties’ product development lifecycle Assist product engineering team with architecture and design reviews of third party products Analyze, research and debug issues related to the implementation of Cisco exposed interfaces and make suggestions for solutions Manage escalation of issues, respond within defined timeframes and set realistic expectations with third parties until resolution Act as technical liaison between product team and third party to champion their issues Keep third parties and database updated with current status of issues Participate in pre and post-sales meetings to present Cisco exposed interfaces, development environment and answer technical questions Become proficient with Cisco published interfaces, APIs and SDKs by reviewing, using and providing feedback to product team Assist third parties in testing their products in Cisco’s Partner Test Lab Assist with defining certification guidelines and test lab requirements Qualifications B.S. degree in CS with 3-5 years of software development experience building networked-based applications. Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of software development, testing and debugging concepts required. Self-starter with excellent customer service, problem solving, communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment required. Experience with Windows platform and working knowledge of internetworking technology a must.
