Product Engineers in the Product Operations Central Engineering group will be primarily working on Value Engineering (VE) and Cost Reduction projects. Helps maintain product margins through the identification and execution of Value Engineering projects. Drive Cisco Systems" outsourced VE services model Owner for the CM/outsourced engineering oversight for Prod Ops Eng team and drives common CM/outsourced engineering services engagement model in collaboration with GTM, NPIE and CDO. Define future needs and capabilities for our outsourced engineering services and CMS/ODM technology capabilities. Conducts Internal and external Design reviews, Project Technical evaluation, Supplier Capability Assessment, Supplier project oversight and management. Establish and deploy a joint talent management model with the CDO. Typically requires BS degree in Engineering or equivalent plus 5-8 years applicable experience.(Electrical Engineer). Solid understanding of electrical circuit and system design concepts and practices. Demonstrates this understanding through the analysis, review and debug of complex boards and systems. Requires little direction from Manager. Works in partnership with the Design Engineering, NPIE groups, GTM, GCM and external partners. Cross functional communication. Interpersonal and team skills. Conflict resolution. Technical Problem solving. Decision making. Influencing. Meeting deadlines. Handles large and complex projects and processes. Works with others to implement technical strategy. May handle multiple projects. Reports to Senior Product Operations Manager. Has a good understanding of all CAE and manufacturing tools used in the job. Demonstrates proficiency with all of the tools and equipment used in the job. Is involved in the investigation and evaluation of new tools, equipment Design Services partners. Is able to train and mentor others in the use of tools, equipment and processes. Has a good understanding of the entire product development process, and a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process. Works in conformance to established manufacturing processes and procedures. Is involved in the identification and implementation of process improvements. Is perceived as a technical leader within the organization.
