Job Description For purchasing project in system activities and steel fabrication, manage and coordinate steel structure manufacturing project according to schedule and quality requirements with selected supplier. Define project plan and manage with supplier each sequences of the project up to the final delivery. Inform and coordinate information between supplier and System Project Management. Assure or witness the quality inspection during progress of contract. Quality inspection consists of material certificate control and correspondence of raw material with EN or ASTM standards, NDT UT and MT for welding, dimensional checking, surface treatment (surface preparation norms, colour compliance painting or galvanizing, thickness of paint or galvanization, type of paint or galvanization Norms and test of final treatment and visual quality), packaging checking according to packaging specifications, documentation control(quality set of documents, expedition documents). Manage(preassembly plan preparation and to be validated by project manager) and witness pre-assembly of steel structure before shipment. Assure that all conditions of contract will be fulfilled. Responsible of developing progress and improvement plan with supplier. Collect and consolidate data that permits the monitoring of suppliers"performance on an on-going basis. Develop quality control, process improvement and inspection methods within the supplier base. Manage/resolve operational issues (delivery and quality) to ensure export orders are delivered on time and according to specifications. Develop strong network of “internal customers” within Metso and establish trusted working relationship. The job will require frequent travel to different manufacturing sites and stay over for supervision and inspection. The System / Steel structure project inspector reports to a Sourcing manager of Metso Minerals China Sourcing office and is located in Shanghai Waigaoqiao. Both report to System Project Management.The System / Steel structure project inspector is responsible for the overall manufacturing management and inspection of steel structure project manufacturing outsourced in China. II . Qualifications Academic background: Mechanical background from leading university, international certification in welding or inspection preferred. Experience: Minimum 5-6 years in steel structure manufacturer in mainland China, preferably working on western projects or 2-3 years in inspection service provider as inspector for steel structure, pressure vessel,etc. Category expertise: Steel structures Language skills: Proficiency in Chinese and English essential.
