Responsibilities / Duties The product lifecycle manager is responsible for the EVA oriented product strategy in his responsible product segment . He conducts his own market- and competitor analysis (incl. benchmark), defines products and features, takes care for development projects (mainly in the specification phase) and initiates all measures for the market introduction to ensure the success in the market. As technical expert the product lifecycle manager supports in cases where detailed technical product and application know how is required, especially for clarification of applications, conducting of approvals and technical sophisticated meetings with customers. Product Strategy: Initiation and implementation of an EVA oriented product strategy for the responsible product segment. This includes the definition of products and features, positioning in the product portfolio, elaborating of unique selling points (USPs), monitoring of the EVA during the product lifecycle (as long not covered by the global PLMs). Product definition and development: Collection of technical and commercial customer requirements. Creation and coordination of requirement specifications (technically and commercially). Clarification and review of development specifications. Announcement of sales and delivery releases (as long not covered by the global PLMs). Supervision of pilot applications regarding technical issues. Market introduction and sales support: Implementation and leading of market introduction teams and providing of market introduction concepts and strategies. Coordination and translation for sales documents, data sheets, catalogues and manuals. Initiation of measures to increase the sales quantities of products and systems. Market analysis for the responsible product segment: Systematical collection of competitor information and making use of it for product definition and sales information. Investigation of competitor devices and evaluation of price information. Benchmark: Initiation and conduction of regular benchmarks. Quantity planning: Yearly quantity planning together with the business target agreement (BTA). Consultant for applications: Writing of application notes. Advice of customers and Siemens staff for applications with our products to ensure the correct technical and commercial reasonable use of our products. Approvals: Strategic decision for necessary approvals. Coordination for the preparation (clarification of tests, preparation of settings, pre tests, commercial clarification) of approvals. Monitoring, technical support, recording of data during the approval itself. Report review with test institute. Training: Presentations and training of Siemens staff and customers for technical sophisticated topics related to protection and substation automation products and systems.
