Operating in more than 20 countries with approximately 15,000 employees, it is a provider of Flow Technology, Test and Measurement, Thermal Equipment and Services, Industrial Products and Services. POSITION SUMMARY This position is to participate in the development of the next generation of Real Time Data Acquisition software products. These products must be capable of acquiring high speed data to hard disk (over 50MByte/s), manipulate and display large volumes of signal data (more then several Gigabytes), avoiding user perceptible delays in the user interaction. Main focus will be on the analysis of the physical events of wide nature (Engine power / Switch gear testing / Explosives) in both the frequency as well as time domain. JOB LOCATION Shanghai KEY RELATIONSHIPS Report to: - Group Leader Software Engineering LDS in U.K MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Leads sub-project teams. Provides cost and schedule estimates and risk assessment for his/her assigned sub-project. Establishes individual goals and completes them and assigned tasks within agreed-upon cost and schedule constraints. Provides technical, schedule and cost status information as required. 2. Leads the writing of engineering product specifications. Establishes criteria for design validation testing. Reviews design validation test data for conformance with product specifications. 3. Leads the research and compilation of technical data essential to the design and development of software products, defines product requirements, and works with other engineers to ensure products meet LDS and customer specifications. 4. Ensure adequate information flow to other teams within the business via internal reporting programs and follow up. 5. Keeps abreast of current and emerging windows software technologies and contributes leadership and vision to the development of new products and the improvement of existing products. Maintains a current understanding of competitive products and LDS’s market position relative to competitive products. 6. Performs advanced engineering tasks where the technology precedent is not well defined. 7. Participation in design and code reviews while guiding other team members. 8. Develops new products, maintains existing products by defining, designing, implementing, and testing complex software structures required to meet functional requirements to ensure customer satisfaction. 9. Ensure new products are delivered to manufacturing as required by the New Product Introduction Process. REQUIREMENT 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science plus appropriate 7-10 years of experience, Master’s Degree preferred. 2. Must have extensive experience programming one of the following Windows environments: a) DOTNET V2 and/or V3 (C# or managed C++) b) COM, DCOM or ATL c) UML design and documentation techniques 3. Previous experience with one of the following work fields is required: a) Applications for Real-time Signal Processing b) High speed data acquisition systems. c) Digital signal processor applications 4. In depth knowledge of the following tools is required: a) Microsoft Visual Studio b) Microsoft Graphical User Interface (GUI) design guidelines c) Windows XP and/or Vista d) Windows TCP/IP networking 5. Able to use Microsoft office package including Visio 6. Direct-X graphics experience is a plus 7. Hands-on experience with analysis related to design, development, implementation and testing of software products. 8. Ability to apply theoretical skill to practical application 9. Experience of operating in a fast-paced, time constrained , multi-functional design environment 10. Able to demonstrate success in an engineering environment 11. Ability to drive solutions to complex operational and engineering problems 12. Strong analytical skills able to identify solutions and create clear action plans 13. Self starter, sets aggressive personal goals and meets commitments 14. Lots of energy, clear sense of urgency 15.
