VWS Beijing Office is involved in the design, construction and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants for municipal clients both in China and South East Asia. The Position Reporting to: Project Manager Description of the position: The Assistant Project Manager will be in charge of assisting the Project Manager in the overall management of the project. Main responsibilities: § Ensure that project operations are performed in accordance with the Client and project Management requirements. § Coordinate other contractors activities on site (civil works, mechanical and electrical activities) § Coordinate internal project team: design, procurement, site supervision, commissioning. § Organize and plan the work of VWS team on site § Ensure that all parties comply with Safety and Quality requirements § Follow up and control of the construction programme. § Monitor contract risks (process, construction, client). § Liaison with local authorities. § Assist Project Manager on financial control of the project. Based in: Urumqi for the project duration of about 2 years Mobility: Not required for this posting. Able to travel all over China for subsequent posting Candidate Profile Education: § Bachelor degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent Experience: § Minimum 5 yrs experience in the position of Senior Project Engineer on site or as a consultant. Skills: § Working knowledge of Chinese rules, regulations, permits&contractor’s obligations. § Speaks, reads and writes English. § Good command of standard Microsoft software including Microsoft Project Compensation Gross salary: Depending on experience and qualifications Bonus scheme: Discretionary based on company and employee performance Other benefits: Local housing and living allowance. .
