With reference to GE"s Environmental Framework - coordinating with, and providing direction to, CTC"s Element Champions/Owners, R Lab Managers and Research Scientists. Lead CTC"s dangerous goods shipping/receiving program and activities. Develop a strong environmental management program to prevent air, waste, wastewater and dangerous goods transportation non-compliances. Investigate and provide practical solutions to the causes of non-compliances, if they occur. Provide technical direction to CTC personnel and contractors for the optimum operation, monitoring and maintenance of CTC"s air emission and treatment systems, wastewater treatment plant and waste storage areas. Coordinate with institutes, consultancies and regulators for the completion and approval of environmental impact assessments. Coordinate with institutes and laboratories for the compliance monitoring of emissions and discharges. Lead CTC"s energy, waste and water reduction initiatives. Follow GE Corporate"s air, water and waste/hazmat management program developments, and coordinate closely with GE Global Research"s Environmental Management Leader in the US and othe GE environmental program leaders globally. Other Responsibilities Maintain a strong awareness of the Chinese environmental regulations that impact CTC. Internally communicate changes in environmental regulations and provide recommendations for the development of CTC"s environmental management program to ensure continued compliance. Meet with government agencies. Perform environmental management and compliance audits. Complete other tasks as designated by the CTC EHS Leader. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: Requirements A bachelor"s degree in environmental science, preferably with a masters degree. Minimum of five years experience in a consultancy or in an environmentally related operational role. Solid execution and communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
