Position Summary: GDNT Nortel is looking for an experienced Software Architect for Nortel’s suite of Wireless and Wireline products. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have software architectural responsibilities for the development and support of Nortel products and services, specifically in the CDMA MSC Core (aka MTX) domain. Responsibilities include combinations of the following: Provide technical leadership and accountability for the architecture of the areas assigned. This includes software domain architectural ownership, software architectural integrity, project planning consultation, risk management, and product evolution. Accountable for ensuring architectural flexibility and extendibility such that existing and future customer requirements can be met. Serve as a design prime to develop the end-to-end system solutions, architectural recommendations, and component level design options for the associated requirements and product goals. Provide technical guidance, consultation, and review of assigned projects such that the project has the correct technical solutions to achieve quality product delivery. Where applicable, provide design and implementation knowledge at the code level, to enable successful product delivery. Support customer needs by providing quality and timely technical support for customer queries&issues, product&requirement definition, and technical support during customer meetings&engagements. Provide support to the R community (design, test, and customerfacing support teams) to resolve internal and customer issues. Accountable, with the Nortel team, for timely resolution of internal and external technical issues of the product. Identify potential design solutions, architecture, processes, etc., that are patentable and submit patent request if it is beneficial for the business. Develop recommendations and white papers that introduce either new industry technologies to the product portfolio or other robustness necessities to implement. Provide recommendations on how that new technology can be used for product evolution and product improvements. Develop technical conference papers and represent Nortel in international technical conferences .Participate to introduce new things or influence the industry standards to align with Nortel’s product development&evolution strategy. Qualifications / Experience Required: Bachelors degree or above in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics / Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 5 years of experience working in telecommunications or related industries. 2 years experience as a software architect in a software development organization. Has led the delivery of a sizeable software project with more than 30 designers successfully and completed the full software design life-cycle. Strong written and verbal communications in English. Proven ability to work effectively in a global environment across multiple time zones. Demonstrated technical leadership skills and knowledge of delivering software systems using C, C++, Java/Java technologies, and Object Oriented technologies. Exposure to CDMA, GSM, wireline, WiMax, or other telephony technologies. Experienced with structured software design processes and lifecycle management. Knowledge of CDMA2000, IMS, and Nortel voice core products would be an asset. 联系方式： .
