Candidate is responsible for the design and the documentation of computer power and related electro-mechanical assemblies. Conceptualize, plan and execute the design and development of switch products. Conducts design verification tests and develop/conduct specialized tests. Create schedules for medium to large tasks and may be required to manage remote development activities. Resolve field and production problems.Conduct internal and external design reviews with design team and vendors. Leads the engineering effort of the specification, design, development and test of on-board DC-DC converters. Co-ordinate the layout of high density DC-DC converters and analysis of operational performance in addition to power flow, short circuit, stability, and post-transient analyses. Responsible for factory and field support. Works with team to develop complex on board DC power solutions, components selection and qualification. Resolves issues at customer sites. Interfacing with Customer Engineers, Account Teams, and Marketing and directly with the Customer to understand customer problems and requirements. Participate in the completion of Engineering Failure Analysis. Resolves line stops and line alerts. Performs Value Engineering tasks. Skills Required Proficient in designing high volume, cost effective products that meet worldwide environmental compliance requirements. (RoHS, etc) Proven experience in complex analog design with an emphasis on DC/DC power supplies and control/monitoring. Solid knowledge of DC/DC converters, Hot-swap control, power management and switching power supply topologies. Expert understanding and experience with board level discrete power conversion and component selections. Experience with stability analysis, harmonic analysis, and fault analysis and circuit protection. Good understanding of analog fundamentals in the design of power electronics. Possess excellent written and presentation skills. Is a team-player and able to interface cross-functionally and team collaboration extending beyond work group. Enjoys working in fast paced and often multi-project environment.
