Marvell Semiconductor’s Printer Systems Division is developing imaging and printing hardware systems for industry leading clients. This engineer will experience product development from concept to mass production, working closely with the customer, third parties, and the global, world-class Marvell Semiconductor design team. Principal Activities: Responsible for PCB layout using Cadence Allegro tools and/or Mentor BoardStation/Expedition. Interface with a global team of schematic designers. Work with PCB manufacturers on process and quality specifications. Logical symbol, PCB footprint creation and database maintain. This engineer is proficient with PCB design tools and exhibits a strong understanding of the PCB design, manufacture, and support process. This engineer can handle a broad range of electrical engineering assignments and is familiar with the components and processes used in PCA design and manufacturing. The engineer will work with a global design team to create quality PCB designs, and will support the designs through the manufacturing process. She/he must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. She/he must be able to work independently and tackle challenging tasks but also enjoy a team environment and have strong interpersonal skills. Good analytical problem solving skills are required, a quick and creative mind. Ability to provide technical leadership is strongly desired. Minimum Set of Requirements: B.S. or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering. 3+ years experience with PCB design. Strong experience with Cadence Allegro and/or Mentor BoardStation/Expedition. Understanding and experience with high frequency and analog circuit PCB design. Understanding of PCB and PCA manufacturing processes in relation to PCB design. Understanding of RoHS compliance and its impact on PCB design. Understanding of Design for Test and Design for Manufacturing. Ability to translate schematic requirements into a quality PCB design. Strong English language communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools. Desired: M.S. or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Ability to use scripting languages to automate EDA processes. Experience with PowerPCB, and other PCB layout and EDA tools. Ability to debug PCAs and perform component failure analysis. Experience with component engineering. Experience with production PCA testing processes and tools. Understanding of electronic product regulatory requirements such as ESD and RFI.
