This engineer will experience product development from concept to mass production, working closely with the customer, third parties, and the global, world-class Marvell Semiconductor design team. This position will include opportunities for travel and/or training abroad. Principal Activities: Manage new product introduction activities from first prototype to production ramp. Manage contract manufacturer interface for prototyping and early production ramp. Drive cost reduction through component source identification and vendor negotiation. Drive production yield and quality through DFM and DFT analysis. Responsible for bill of materials and approved vendor list analysis. Co-work design team in resolving component manufacturer"s technical and specification issues . This engineer can handle a broad range of electrical engineering assignments with a firm understanding of electrical, electro-mechanical components and semiconductor components/ICs as used in PCA manufacturing. Primary job functions include supporting new product introduction, component engineering, PCB/PCA manufacturing support at selected contract manufacturers. She/he must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. She/he must be able to work independently and tackle challenging tasks but also enjoy a team environment and have strong interpersonal skills. Good analytical problem solving skills are required, a quick and creative mind. Ability to provide technical leadership is strongly desired. Minimum Set of Requirements: M.S./B.S. or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Strong communication skills and proficient in English. 2-3 years of experience in Component Engineering and SMT/Through Hole manufacturing processes. Complement Technical skills with Business goals in mind. Drives cost negotiation and reduction of component and PCA cost. Solid understanding of PCA design and debug. Understanding of RoHS compliance in electronics and PCA contract manufacturing. Desired: M.S. or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering Ability to translate semiconductor component data sheets to design parameter requirements. Ability to debug PCAs and perform component failure analysis. Understanding of regulatory requirements such as ESD and RFI.
