An aggressive strategy is being pursued, which involves broadening the brand portfolio over the next few years through strategic JVs and acquisitions. It is highly likely that the company supply business in China will develop considerably as the growth strategy is pursued Procurement is seen as a source of value creation through fully leveraging company’s scale, applying market and supply base knowledge and by exploiting the suppliers’ capabilities in the commercial, marketing and supply chain activities. The sourcing of key components and services from China has been identified as a region that offers significant opportunities in a number of categories In addition sourcing certain items via is vital in developing a successful relationship with the JV partner Need to do Key Outputs For the Emerging Market Sourcing program: Work with company regional and local category managers to identify priority Packaging and POSM categories Carry out robust market research to identify potential sources Carry out initial RFI and RFQ activity to build business case and develop a preferred potential supplier listing Carry out initial site visits to build greater understanding of supplier capabilities&refine supplier listing For selected priority suppliers support the supplier and component qualification processes Collate&review supplier performance data&lead local supplier performance improvement activity with Technical and Supply Chain colleagues Provide supplier performance data to the relevant category manager on a regular basis and escalate as required To act as a key co-ordinator and communication link between various company business units and the supply base For the JV purchasing process: Act as the business development manager for the Procurement JV, liaising with company Procurement and ensuring that suitable materials are sourced via the JV Develop and implement a robust process that facilitates the purchase, receipting and payment of items procured via the JV entity for company Work with the Technical group to support the developments and implementation of a robust quality assurance process that ensures that the suppliers and the procured materials meet all company standards and specs Communicate and liaise effectively with company Procurement on sourcing and supplying specified items for company entities Ensure best practice and processes are adapted and core capabilities are achieved IT Skills MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint PtP systems Relationships JV senior management team Company Asia Pac senior management team Global Procurement Community Technical Operations Supply Chain Marketing Finance Qualifications University Degree Fluent in Mandarin&English Good analytical skills Well developed commercial skills Well developed project management skills Understands economic, cultural and market environments Sound knowledge of legal, contractual frameworks Generates and sustains effective working relationships with senior management teams Deep awareness JV key drivers to proactively challenge and support business success Strong negotiation skills Experience 7 + years broad and deep international commercial experience Career in a Multinational Company environment Capabilities Leadership capabilities Strategic depth: Produce new ideas to gain commercial advantage within strategic frameworks Strong entrepreneurial spirit to build the JV business Commercial insight: Develop and use sound analytical tools which link to business results Integrity: Maintain high level of integrity and generate trust in others across a range of situations.
