Primary focus of this position is on design and optimise mechanical fastener product sourcing worldwide, prepare product installation instruction sheet for sourcing product. Position is part of the ERICO International sourcing team and reports directly to the Manager of Quality&Engineering. Responsibilities: Design new product for global sourcing and optimize existing fastener product to meet customer expectation and market needs. Generate ERICO Technical Standard for ERICO sourcing product. Conduct function test, like pullout test, bend test, corrosion test and torque test to qualify and verify new designed product. Provide customer training and technical support to manufacturing during pilot run and production start-up for new designed product application, solve customer complaint by continuous improvement of design. Effectively participate in the process of supplier selection, qualification and supplier management based on ERICO product management system. Prepare all necessary design documents like BOM, DFMEA, Drawings/layouts etc. Work in a cross function with SQE and Sourcing commodity team during the sample qualification or Prototype stage. Perform design analysis and evaluation by CAD/CAE /UG tooling. Travel locally and internationally to carry out product design related issue. Other tasks as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor degree or above in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Manufacturing. Experience: Minimum of 3 years mechanical product design experience. Experience with metal machining process like CNC machining process, punching, tapping process and casting process. With task/project planning and participate in new product development with others as a team. Knowledge of metal material mechanics and heat treatment Basic PC skills, email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Flexible, able to rapidly respond to new situations and multi-task Creative thinker, able to quickly assess problems and drive effective responses Excellent communication skills, in Mandarin and English, to formulate lasting relationships with suppliers and will easily form new relationships with clients. Preferred: Manufacturing plant experience, or related experience. Expertise with UG and Pro/E software. Experience with FM and UL approval process. Knowledge of international construction environment.
