In China we have an opening for an experienced Quality and Technology Engineer. Your key responsibility in this position will be to manage and develop the quality and technology in the suppliers assigned to you You will monitor, plan activities and execute them based on quality metrics and set targets. In addition to this, you will use your knowledge of supplier technology, process maturity and risks to guide programs and platforms in technology selection. Supplier quality development as well as supplier qualification, selection and quality reviews will also be part of this varied role. Another important challenge will involve developing and implementing quality processes and practices, both internally and with suppliers. While managing quality related reporting and communication, you will drive the resolution of assembly quality problems and follow up the implementation of corrective actions. Your broad network of collaborator partners will include professionals from the Devices Commen Technologies organization, Manufacturing Solutions, product programs, Nokia and Supplier factories, supply line and materials management as well as customer care. In you new role you will be a part of Sub-assembly Commodity Sourcing We are looking for a Specialist with knowledge in Sub-assembly commodity technologies: Surface Mount Assembly (SMA) process, AFC Bonding process, Camera module functionality and composition, Audio components functionality and composition, Production test methods Production process control, Basic PWB and FPC Manufacturing Methods, Basic Plastic Injection Moulding and Decoration Key Tasks: Support and facilitation of Supplier Quality Systems Development, Improvement activities and projects. Support and facilitation of Component Quality Development and Improvement activities and projects. Deployment of Nokia Technology Roadmaps and requirements to Suppliers and driving Supplier development of new technology capabilities to meet future Nokia needs. Devices Common Technologies (R ) support and Supplier Technology Industrialization verification. Facilitating communication of Supplier technology innovation to Devices Common Technologies and Nokia Design organizations. Verifying Supplier competence in key individual Technologies and provide performance metrics to key stakeholders (management, commodity teams and programs). Guidance and support for development of assembly mass production together with Devices Common Technologies, Sourcing, Product Programs and Suppliers. Utilization of good understanding of Supplier manufacturing processes and technology to pro-actively support new programs in development of assembly production at supplier sites, help identify and manage risks (for capacity, cost, availability and technology), and drive quality target setting and supplier performance monitoring. Utilizes good understanding of Supplier manufacturing process and technology to proactively support DCT in deployment of technology to suppliers, facilitate communication of Supplier technology innovation and support technology development projects at supplier sites with characterization of capacity, cost, availability, and technology and help set quality targets and supplier performance monitoring. Requirements: Has strong technical and/or quality background with 6+ years relevant experience. This candidate should also have willingness to further develop his/her technical expertise in the following areas: component, integration and manufacturing technologies. Understands and can analyze effects of design limitations, materials, manufacturing processes and technology capability limits for assembly of small precision components, structural, shielding and cosmetic in a high volume low cost high quality market. Good understanding of Quality management and improvement processes and tools The candidate should be capable to deliver supplier portfolio on technology roadmap, solutions provided by suppliers in technical and production aspects, technology driver of new Nokia project etc. Fluent listening, speaking, reading and writing in English and Mandarin. Education: B.Sc./ M.Sc. in engineering or equivalent in relevant experience Good communication and presentation skills. Professional and Business Processes Competencies: Business Understanding, Cost consciousness, End-to-end supply chain optimization, Supplier Collaboration Capable to demonstrate Nokia Values Based Competencies: Change Management and Leadership, Innovation, Learning Ability, Quality Orientation. Ideal candidate: An experienced design, process or manufacturing engineer in the Sub-assembly technology area with strong interest and competences in Quality and Supplier management. Specialists with specific and deep understanding of designing, manufacturing and testing of sub-assemblies, experience of 6+ years or more, but the technical know how is key. Six Sigma greenbelt Experience in high volume low cost high quality production and supply of small precision components (structural and cosmetic). Capable to influence Supplier upper management and guide supplier improvements at all levels of the supplier organization.
