Be the technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of Power Generation components. *Establish a structured approach for consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements. Work closely with various divisions of GE Energy to conduct First Piece Qualification (FPQ), Quality Surveillance, and Capacity audits . Aid in supplier approval process - manufacturing, technology, and Environmental Health&Safety (EHS) risk analysis. Track and work on Request For Quotation (RFQ"s) and new business opportunities. Drive continuous improvement of supplier"s quality, cycle, and delivery performance through Six Sigma. Work closely with GE Energy Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may effect quality and delivery requirements. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: At least 5 years hands-on experience in as welding engineer for carbon or stainless steel materials. GTAW (TIG) welding of stainless materials and joining processes is preferred: familiarity with ASME, ASTM, and EN fabrication standards is highly valued. Familiar with Non-destructive test (NDT) is preferred. International Welding Engineer (IWE) or AWS-CWI certification preferred. BS/MS Mechanical/Welding/Material Degree. Hands-on experience of manufacturing quality control in the BOILER industry is preferred. Familiar with Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) and gasification equipments (power plant or chemical industry). The working experience in power generation equipments or petrochemical works from the state owned business is highly valued. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills: background in interpretation of blueprints/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation. Ability to work in cross-functional, global team environment.
