SKF (Shanghai) Automotive Technologies Co., Ltd, (SKF ATC) is a wholly owned company by SKF based in JiaDing, Shanghai. The factory started up in Shanghai in 2005 and has a workforce of around 50 employees. As part of the Car Corner Business Unit, ATC manufactures and/or assembles HBU3, HBU1, BTU and other automotive components. Now we are looking for a professional caliber to take up the following position: Location: Shanghai Jiading Key Responsibilities: The unit EHS Engineer is a combination of the following job positions: Environmental Technician, Industrial Hygienist, with the addition of Occupational Safety or risk minimization engineer. Job responsibilities may include the following: General Develop management and employee EHS responsibilities and performance measures. Assist unit management in developing/improving employee and management skills to execute their responsibilities in the EHS program. Conduct site inspections and program evaluations. Evaluate new processes, chemicals, and equipment prior to their purchase at the location/operation. Define employee training needs and select training tools. Deliver training or verify delivery of training by qualified individuals to employees and management. Implement programs for the recognition, evaluation and control of physical and chemical hazards. Assist management and operating teams to verify compliance with Group requirements and government regulations. Lead or participate in various types of EHS compliance and/or management system audits of studio locations to ensure compliance with local, national and Group requirements Public Relations Environmental Technician Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) of property being purchased Keeping company chemical&hazardous waste records Air emission permitting and related maintenance and paperwork Water pollutant discharge and related maintenance and paperwork Legal assistance Groundwater monitoring in areas where long-term monitoring wells have been installed Soil and surface water sampling and monitoring Under Ground Storage Tank (UST) evaluation Occupational Safety or risk minimization engineer Choose a hazardous waste contractor Conduct site inspections and program evaluations. Assist evaluation and selection of personal protective equipment. Maintain injury and illness records, verify accuracy. Review accident reports and follow up action plans. Participate in accident investigations. Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on hazardous materials used in the workplace Perform routine safety inspections Industrial hygiene - monitor employee exposure to hazards Maintain safety contingency plans (fires, spills, etc.) Required skills and working experience: Bachelor"s degree in EHS, I/H, Engineering or related discipline At least 2 years experience with safety, compliance, and environmental programs Knowledge of hazardous waste/material handling and transport Verbal and written in English Experience in Manufacturing Safety Demonstrated leadership capabilities Ability to interface effectively at all levels of management and line personnel Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects and tasks concurrently We offer a challenging opportunity together with competitive remuneration and benefits, training and development possibilities in a highly global environment to the right candidates.
