Job description: Work as part of the iPAQ hardware team that is responsible for the architecture, specifications, design, and performance of handheld devices, smartphones, and peripherals. In particular, you will specify, design, and manage audio hardware development Work with ODMs to insure products meet all applicable GSM and 3G cellular and wireless audio test requirements Provide design guidance in areas of audio system design Use electroacoustic measurement systems to validate design and implemenation Design and support common implementations across multiple device solutions Requirements: Education Bachelor"s (undergraduate), Master"s (graduate) or Ph.D. (post-graduate) degree in Computer Science, Computer, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering. Experience Minimum of 5 to 8 years of hardware design experience including product life cycle execution: definition, simulation, design, verification and test prototyping, debugging, qualification, release to production, etc.; electronic appliances, or hand-held devices, or other telecommunication products; experience with technologies required for developing internet connected devices. Minimum 2 - 4 years experience in audio/acoustic design in mobile phones or handheld audio devices. Skills Expertise in one or more of these areas: analog, SIC/PAL/PLD, PC board, power system, or high level system design; electrical signal analysis, thermo analysis, design/architecture, etc. Commitment and self-motivation.
