Testing is focused on the integration of features and functionality as well as scale, performance and availability of the integrated solution. Members of this team have a detailed understanding of Cisco Enterprise Unified Communication products. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating 3 rd party product integration methods; design and development of comprehensive integration test plans; and execution of feature, functional, and load testing in a complex lab environment. The team is also responsible for the creation and improvement of automation on a continuous basis using a combination of generally available 3 rd party products as well as internally developed tools. All positions on this team require collaboration across multiple Cisco teams and CTDP members. Responsibilities (Individual Contributor) Participate on a project team of engineers involved in the configuration and verification of Solution designs and/or the verification of software that may include any of the following list of responsibilities: Assisting in definition of comprehensive lab design strategy based on evolving and changing testing requirements; Interfacing with Support, Engineering, Technical Marketing, Product Management and CTDP members to understand customer product use cases and requirements for the development of appropriate testing and verification methods; Ensuring sufficient traffic test coverage in all test plans; Participating in the development of test automation; Identifing methods for test monitoring and issue resolution. This role interfaces cross-functionally and requires team collaboration extending beyond work the individual’s group; and as such, the role also requires excellent verbal skills and professional presentation skills. Skills The candidate is required to have experience with telecommunications, preferably VOIP. The candidate should also have proven experience in lab development, lab management and testing. As an experienced tester, the candidate will be required to identify system wide problems for solutions that are being tested. The following skill set and experience are required: Experience with VOIP networking protocols (i.e. IP/TCP, MGCP, H323, SIP, RTP, QOS, etc.) Experience with Cisco Unified Communications products (CallManager, Unity, Contact Center , etc) Experience with API’s/Protocols (i.e. TAPI/JTAPI, AXL SOAP) as well as a broad knowledge of other related enterprise VOIP product types. Understand of VOIP network design and how it applies to testing principles, practices, and tools used in a VOIP lab. Excellent communication skills (verbal and presentation) and ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative environment. Systems or interoperability testing background. Understanding of test tools and automation concepts. The following skill set and experience are desirable: Programming experience in C/C++, TCL/Expect, Perl, or scripting languages. Telecommunications test tool experience with leading vendors (Empirix, Spirent, Ameritec, etc). Experience with various Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Cisco IOS.
